Do you remember when windows 7 was the windows 10 of today? Well, not anymore, because Microsoft has ended  support for its windows 7 operating system. The discontinuation came 10 years after existence of the OS, specifically on January 14, 2020.

The company said the decision was in line with an already made commitment to provide 10 years of product support for Windows 7 when it was released on October 22, 2009. Microsoft, however, urges users to upgrade to windows 10 to keep up with software updates and technical assistance from Microsoft.

What are the Implications for users.

One implication is that hackers are going to have a field day as technical assistance and software updates from Windows Update that help protect your PC will no longer be available for it.

Next is software applications built for higher versions of windows such as 8 & 10 will no longer be accessed on windows 7.

Windows 7 will be deeply missed by users as majority of windows users recall great memories and moments of joy encountered using the windows 7 platform. It is highly preferred to Windows 8 and much more than Microsoft’s pick, windows 10.

Windows 7 is remembered for its responsiveness, flexibility and simplicity of use. Unlike Windows 8 that is cluttered with excesses

Nonetheless, everything that has a beginning must have an end. The existence of windows 7 has ended to create room for better experiences with other tech products. And hopefully, windows 10 will bring along those experiences.
