China being aware of the drastic consequences of social vices in the country plans to abate it through high technology deployment in the year 2020. The government through surveillance cameras, facial recognition and smart glasses score her citizens on social behaviour which can lead to punishment.

The social credit score would serve as criteria to access certain privileges like buying a plane ticket, renting a house, accessing high internet speed or getting a loan. If your credit score gets too low, you can be banned from accessing these privileges.

However, the score can fluctuate based on a range of behaviours, like whether you jaywalk, buy Chinese-made goods or buy too many video games. Also recalling that sensetime, one of China’s most successful AI companies created smart cameras for the government that can help catch criminals as they pass in front of the cameras.
