Google launches a new product called “Google One”. Wait a minute, is Google One actually a new product or just a re-brand? We’ll find out.

Now, if you are familiar with Google Drive file storage and synchronization service, then you can certainly relate to Google One

Google One is a re-branded name for Google Drive storage plans, except for a few tweaks to prices and features.

Google One plan of 100GB storage at $1.99 per month remains the same as with Google Drive plan. But here’s a simple variation, Google is introducing an additional storage of 200GB at $2.99 per month tier, and 2TB storage for $9.99 per month which is the same price for 1TB storage plan. However, the free 15GB is still the same.

More signicantly is the share feature: Google One’s added feature makes it possible to share your storage with up to persons in different locations. Google says it’s not limited to drive but to Gmail and photos.

Furthermore is access to live 24/7 support where Google experts at the other end of the line attends to any question you may have regarding Google products.

Google One already has existing subscribers which are those who Google automatically migrated from Google Drive. And recently, Google also gave all Google One members credits on Google Play and promised to offer members deals for purchases in the Google Store.

For those who are already stuck with iCloud, there might not be a need for change, but those using Dropbox, Microsoft, etc, you might want to consider Google One.

Google One is basically deployed for businesses. It is very much available in the US but will soon spread across other countries.
