Who Is Ready For iOS 17 Beta? Unfortunately iPhone X And Lower Versions From 2017 Won’t Get The update!

As iPhone users anticipate the new iOS 17 beta release and its amazing features this month of July, excitement and anxiety have mounted for those who use iPhones. Apple during its WWDC conference in June said that the new iOS version will not be available to all iPhone devices from 2017 and below.

The iPhone maker released the iPhone models that would and would not be compatible with the iOS 17.

According to Apple, If you’ve got one of these iPhones, you’ll have access to iOS 17 when it’s available this year.

  • iPhone XS Max
  • iPhone 11
  • iPhone 11 Pro
  • iPhone 11 Pro Max
  • iPhone 12
  • iPhone 12 Mini
  • iPhone 12 Pro
  • iPhone 12 Pro Max
  • iPhone 13
  • iPhone 13 Mini
  • iPhone 13 Pro Max
  • iPhone SE (second generation and later)
  • iPhone 14 (including plus)
  • iPhone 14 Pro

If you’ve got one of these iPhones you’ll not have access to iOS 17 when it’s available this year.

Earlier this year, Meta’s WhatsApp also released a list of iPhones that will no longer use WhatsApp this December .

If you aren’t sure which iPhone you’ve got, a quick check in your settings can show you. Open your Settings app and tap General > About. Next to Model Name, you’ll see which iPhone you have.

Why Apple still supports iPhone XR despite being released in 2017

The iPhone XR has been updated to iOS 16 (as of late 2022) and there’s no reason to expect Apple won’t continue updating the phone for the next few years.
