How The Lagos Social Media Week Is Beating Expectations

The Lagos social media week has just been concluded on the 8th of Feb. 2019. The yearly event which took place at the Landmark event centre, Ikoyi, Lagos, from the 4th of Feb. to the 8th of Feb, saw an attendance that shocked everybody.

The 2019 event saw about 25,000 visitors over a period of one week, with an online reach of about 700million. The event which taps into the high population strength of Lagos, a city busting with tenacious people, has been experiencing geometrical increase since its inception. However, the Lagos social media week is a franchise of the social media week in the U.S.

PROGRAMMING HIGHLIGHTS

SMW Lagos conference programming featured on 3 main stages, in a masterclass suite, studio suite, speakeasy suite, Meetup Lounge, and 3 Workshop spaces. Experiential programming included the OFFLINE Wellness Studio, the AfricaNXT Annex and the #SMWLAGOS Beach House.

This year’s event featured over 400 speakers including Lasisi Elenu, Joey Akan, Collins Onuegbu, Obinna Ezekiel, Afua Osei, Eva Alordiah, JJ Omojuwa, Idia Aisien, Banky W, Nedu Wazobia, Eku Edewor, Nkem Begho, Tomi Davies, Basketmouth, Odunayo Eweniyi, Folu Storms, and Bizzle Osikoya

The licensee of the Lagos social media week, Ms. Ngozi Odita, has been able to garner sponsors and partnership from companies alike.
